REPTILE ENCOUNTERS MALACCA
An Animal Adventure in the Heart of Historical Malacca

Reptile Encounters Malacca is home to a small collection of snakes, other reptiles and exotic creatures in the heart of Historical Malacca.

We currently feature a collection of more than 70 varieties of animals, including more than 40 species of snakes. Our collection of snakes include both venomous and non-venomous snakes. While we've most recently added a common marmoset as cute exotic creatures.

Reptile Encouters Malacca is located along Lorong Hang Jebat, a stone's throw away from the popular Jonker Walk.

EDUCATION
Snakes are some of the most feared and misunderstood creatures on the face of this earth, even though fewer than 7% of all snakes are venomous. Even fewer are harmful to humans. Of course, some religions depict snakes as evil or harbinger of misfortune, while others may consider snakes auspicous. Most of all, however, snakes bring balance to nature. If not for snakes, nature would be overrun by rodents capable of spreading disease, for example.

ENTERTAINMENT
As an exhibition that is open to the public, Reptile Encounters Malacca provides visitors the opportunity to encounter snakes they may not otherwise see except, perhaps, on National Geographic. In addition to the exhibition, visitors may also interact with our tame animals and snakes and/or have their photographs taken with some beautiful snakes. Our close proximity to Jonker Walk and the Dutch Square also makes Reptile Encounters Malacca an ideal stopover for Treasure Hunters–for more information contact us.

RESOURCE
Based on our experience with animals, let alone snakes, we also provide visitors and budding enthusiasts/herpetologists a avenue to discover or learn more about snakes as pets. We do not sell animals at Reptile Encounters Malacca–we are not a pet store–but we would recommend interested buyers to sellers.

NOW SHOWING IN MALACCA
70 Species and Growing

SNAKES, SNAKES & MORE SNAKES
We currently have a collection of more than 40 different snakes including venomous and non-venomous species. Our venomous collection includes rattlesnakes, king cobras and pit vipers while our non-venomous collection features pythons and colubrids from Malaysia and around the world. Yes, we have the Anaconda too. Both green and yellow.

OTHER REPTILES
Our modest collection also includes several other reptiles such as geckos and turtles. The most interesting of all is our Alligator Snapping Turtle which we snapped up off a pet store during a "Closing Down Sale." We wonder how and why mother nature created such a creature. You'd have to see for yourself.

EXOTIC CREATURES
To compliment our collection of reptiles, we have also acquired several exotic creatures that may be featured in animal presentations or interactive sessions for children. These animals include parrots and small primates while sugar gliders, guinea pigs, etc., would complete our petting corners.
